Football Fridays / Fly the Flag
Client: Brand South Africa
Brief: To engage corporate, government, media and youth stakeholders in a simple to execute activation around the 2010 FIFA World Cup™
Objectives: To motivate and inspire South Africans to show their pride and patriotism by supporting the South African soccer team during the run up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™
Solution: Football Fridays began simply enough as a call to all South Africans to wear their Bafana Bafana t-shirt and fan gear on Fridays in a show of support. Blueprint, as a member of the IMC supplier team, was engaged to provide below-the-line support and collateral for the Fly the Flag and Football Fridays activations. This included strategic direction, design, logistics and training materials. Fly the Flag, which was born out of Football Fridays continued the call with supporters donning Protea fan colours during the cricket
and supporting the Class of 2010.
